Thanksgiving was wonderful, as always :) And I am thankful for all the many blessings in my life and in those around me. Due to some unexpected news, I reflected a little more on my thankfulness...and ran the 8k in honor and memory.
Kris, Ella, and I met up with Steph and John for our every other year 8k turkey trot at Fleet Feet. They changed the course this year, and I think I liked it a little better. Although, no matter how you twist and turn it, the first 2 miles are downhill, the middle is up and down, and the last 2 miles are uphill. Ella ran the kids dash and was fabulous....she actually RAN hard this year...I think she is coming around. :) Saturday was my first time in a while tackling Turkey Creek plus. I was able to run with Steph again, which was nice to have her company twice this week! Those Turkey Creek hills haven't gotten any nicer, but the cooler weather allows them to actually be manageable!
The schedule is definitely going to be more challenging the next few weeks as I gear up for the Frosty 50k again. I am all registered, and Steph, KO, and Crystal are all going too, so it should be fun! Time to run off all that Thanksgiving before the Christmas baking begins!!!!
PS- I have a desperate plea....does ANYONE want to do the Leadville 100 mile mountain bike race? Not with me, but someone has to pull Kris out of "retirment" before we all go crazy :) He's too old to be a total weekend warrior!
Ella and the 2 Turkeys :) I mean Uncle John and the Turkey!
