Running wise, this was a big week for me! I completed my Yassos at a faster pace (and easier effort- at least mentally easier), ran a Fartlek run with my running buddies, ran back-to-back long runs of 25 miles on Saturday and 20 miles on Sunday, and broke the 60 miles-for-the week mark! Man, am I tired :) And surprisingly, I am still moving around......I even came in from both long run days and commenced to cleaning the house. I am not sure why, because I actually said on Friday night that I would NOT do that, but somehow it made me feel productive at home- since I spent so much time on the trails! I enjoyed the various company for parts of both my long runs- and I also enjoyed my iPod time! The weather was BEAUTIFUL both days :) The back-to-back long runs were definitely a mental and physical challenge....I actually had to tell myself several times, put your head down and go (thanks, Tracey for the words that stick with me through all those rough patches!). I did 2 loops of the race course on Saturday, and thought to myself, "what have I gotten into?" Here's to putting your big girl running tights on, putting your head down, and moving forward!!!!!!
And now, it is time for our Happy, Happy, Joy Day celebration! Kris baked the infamous cake, and dinner is being picked up. Ella and Kris got balloons and streamers and decorated this morning....and the visitors arrived starting around 1:00 this afternoon.
