T- 1 Day!

Ah, less than 24 hour hours and the excitment (and anxiety) are building.  I have been able to keep myself super busy at work all week - because that is what happens inevitably in January- and haven't had much time to think about Saturday's event.  But last night when I left work and my to do list for the week was dwindling- I realized I was a little anxious.  Fortunately, I still had a run to get in, and that helped to re-focus me.  I couldn't bear the thought of treadmilling it (see, you can make any word into a gerund if you try :)), so hit the roads to clear my mind.  The run was great, and was able to evaluate my "To Do" list for work, life, and running. I didn't do the traditional taper for this event, but according to Kris, I had the taper  grumpiness....I, however, totally disagree :)

January is always the month that sends me head first into many bags of skittles- this started a few years back when I volunteered to assist in the Statistics course and agreed to teach a lecture on appropriate statistical tests for various data- parametric versus non-parametric; chi square test or T- test, ANOVA or Mann Whitney U?????? ahhh, every year I dive back in (to the statistics and to the skittles).  Fortunately this year, I was able to prepare my lecture with 0 bags of skittles, and 4 mini-me tootsie rolls!  An improvement, I think :)  I have also been preparing several other lectures and projects and am trying to do what I do best- in running and work- head down and progress forward.

The January Desk- so full I had to make stacks in my chairs this week....

Heading to Winston shortly with Steph, and followed shortly by KO...we are going to spend the night with Mangie- which promises to be entertaining, and then head to the race start around 7 tomorrow morning.  Kris, John, and Ella will meet us there....and we shall see how the day unfolds.

Stay tuned.....................
