Ah, January moves forward! I have to say that I am glad that my recovery week coincided with the most recent ice storm from Old Man Winter. Not sure about everyone else, but I am so over this snow/ice thing. And I would be perfectly content if we could get some "average" temps back into the forecast! Fortunately, I took full advantage of Coach Ian's instructions to take it easy after the 50k, and only ran 4 days last week...which may have contributed to my bad mood :) I even started dreading the snap back to reality that I knew was coming this week- okay, so not so much dread as begin to get anxious about it all again. Seriously???? And then Coach Ian sent me my schedule for the next 4 weeks- and I may have actually developed palpitations. Of course, he reminded me to take it one day at a time- which I will keep reminding myself. Although, I should ask him if he is mad at me for something I have done- because those pesky YASSOs showed up on my schedule again (gulp)!!!! Kris is trying reverse psychology with my Yasso fear- but it is not yet working. Oh well- time to put back on my big girl running shorts :)
I was reminded of a person that provides great inspiration this week- and as one of my colleagues told me- looking at his picture "was like a pleasant blast from a hot oven!" And with all the coldness outside, my heart grew warm inside...so I thought I would share the picture.
So, here we go onward and upward in the training....getting into the 100 mile specific training! Here's to 4 more weeks of fun!
Oh, and Steph and I also went to see Greg-our favorite hairstylist/artist on Saturday afternoon....he always makes us smile!
That man can grow a beard...
